GreenLeaf Financial Step-One

Think about how much time and effort students spend in school to get prepared for their professional career, and then think about how much time and effort they spend to lean the financial basics and prepare for their financial life. Most people run through K-13 to college without taking a single financial class to prepare for their financial future. It is no surprising that all kinds of problems, such as sub-prime mortgage, happen over the course of people's life, because people do not understand financial basics to use in real life.

This website is to prepare people on the very basics to survive in American financial life. After you go through the course of this website, you will have everything you need to know to get started to deal with all the financial topics in your life.

I start this by teaching my daughter and son about financial basic, which morph into this project.

What you will learn from this website

You will learn the basics of financial concept, such as NPV (net present value), and you will learn the practical financial issues during the course of a typical American life. However, most importantly, we hope that you will learn one most important concept : Always do your homework before you make the decision. If you can plant this in your mind after reading this website and start to practice this in your financial life, we have achieved the goal of this website.

What's next after ...

Note that life is a never stop learning process. Think about how many hours you spend in one year to get your annual salary, and then think about how much hours you spend to make the decision to buy the house which costs many more times of your annual salary. This website gives you a good start. Never stop. Always do your homework, and never stop learning.
